Hey Beauties!

I just wanted to share one of my favorite spices which also happens to be a common cosmetic ingredient as well, Turmeric. There are several benefits that this yellow powder offers for both beauty and health. Keep reading to learn more 😊

What exactly is Turmeric? Turmeric is a plant native to India and Southeast Asia; the plant stems or roots are ground into a powder. Known as the Golden Spice or Indian Saffron due to its deep orange and yellow color. Uses of Turmeric can be dated back 4000 years, commonly as a culinary spice to flavor and/or color foods, holistic healing, and in cosmetics. In Ayurvedic medicine, Turmeric has been used to help treat a variety of ailments including inflammation, arthritis, gallstones and even skin cancer!

Benefits of Turmeric in Beauty

Hyperpigmentation: the curcumin in Turmeric reduces the excess production of melanin which will combat dark spots, lighten scars, and even skin tone.

Anti-Aging: Turmeric has been known to slow the aging process by diminishing wrinkles, boosting collagen production, and protecting the skin from harmful UV rays.

Skin Conditions: the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties in Turmeric can help combat psoriasis and eczema.

Reduces Dark Circles: dark circles are mainly hereditary but are commonly caused by lack of sleep or over-exposure to the sun.Turmeric being anti-inflammatory agent helps reduce puffiness under eyes and can help lighten skin.
